Caridad Center's after school Homework Enrichment Program assists children in need with school work and provides enrichment activities and mentoring support.

With your help:


The Homework Enrichment Program collaborates with Freedom Shores Elementary School to help identify children in need. In 2010-2011, 43 children from first to fifth grade participated in the  enrichment program, along with 112 volunteers.

In 2010-2011, 100% of students in the program were found to be on track for promotion based on the Sunshine State Standards. In reading, 85% of students showed improvement; in writing/language, 57% of students showed improvement; in mathematics, 49% improved.

In 2010-2011, 18 Caridad students received scholarships to attend Palm Beach State College.

In addition, one student received a scholarship to Florida International University.

In 2011, 90 children attended summer camp and/or recreational classes

In 2011 during the summer, 1460 children received backpacks and/or school supplies for the start of the school year. An additional 455 students received assistance towards uniforms and/or new shoes.
